Welcome to Small Business Week!

With a change to our calendar this year, a busy week for the Chamber with Business After Hours presented by Millards, located at the Brantford Club this afternoon from 4:30-6:30pm, our annual Tradeshow and New Member Social on Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Best Western, and supporting our friends at the BRC with the Lunch and Learn today at the BRC. Our friends at BScene and the ReStore are hosting the Paris and District Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours tomorrow afternoon as well.

As noted in last week’s message, the Chamber had a robust team and message at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce AGM and Policy Convention Oct 12-14th. Through members of the Executive Committee of the Board, our Chamber spoke over 20 times (in both official languages), during the Policy Resolution debates, on proposed resolutions as varied as Agriculture, Bail Reform, Childcare, Indigenous Procurement, and Advanced Manufacturing. The two policies from our Chamber, Driving Innovation in Canada and Strengthen the Resilience of Canada’s Food and Beverage Industry by Reinforcing and Stabilizing the Supply Chain of Strategic Commodities were passed by the delegates and will become part of the CCC’s Advocacy platform to the federal government for the next three years. Look for a full report linked to our website in an upcoming edition of the e-news, and in January’s InTouch.
