Welcome to May, with a busy couple of weeks ahead for the Chamber! Let’s dig in!
The 38th Annual Business Excellence Awards on Thursday, May 5th promises to be one of the largest and best events in our community so far in 2022. We look forward to celebrating the best in business in our community with everyone who is able to attend. Look forward to seeing you there!
Our next Business After Hours on Tuesday, May 10th from 5-6 pm at Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course, presented by the Brantford Regional Real Estate Association, is an exclusive one-hour Meet and Greet with our Provincial Election Candidates for members of the Chamber and BRREA. Immediately following the event, our Candidates’ Debate will be recorded on-site, followed by a panel discussion.
This week’s E-News features a number of exciting events and programs. The Chamber is consistently approached with more partnership, program ideas and opportunities, and the many member benefits already in place. We will be further enhancing our website and communications to improve awareness of and access to affinity programs, student labour, and special programs and events in the coming months. We will be seeking your input into many of these ideas through our 2022 Membership Survey, see below for more details.
As noted last week, President Paul Bisanti and CEO David Prang attend the Ontario Chamber of Commerce AGM and Policy Convention this past weekend. Our co-authored policy, “Create and Implement a Provincial Strategy on Homelessness, Addictions, and Mental Health” was passed with 100% support of the Chamber Network and becomes part of the OCC’s advocacy efforts with the provincial government over the next three years. Look for more information on this policy shortly, and on additional advocacy efforts and wins in the coming months.
