Support for our Rapid Screening Kit program has been both amazing, and overwhelming throughout the past three weeks. It has been a great experience to be able to help businesses remain operational in the face of the omicron variant wave, while at the same time now running into the supply chain challenges for kits impacting most Canadians, and our Chamber colleagues across the province.
While we were fortunate to have procured enough kits to meet demand until today, we have had to pause new and refill appointments for kits until our supply is replenished, which will be among the 140 million widely reported over the past couple of weeks for delivery to Canada. In under a week we have developed an extensive waiting list and look forward to resuming appointments as soon as possible.
Additionally, we have heard from small and medium-sized businesses that while the small business grant program provides some much needed assistance, it excludes a number of business sectors and the Chamber will continue to push for supports that are timely and related any restrictions imposed under public health measures. See below for links to the most updated program information, and contact the Chamber if you need assistance navigating the program requirements.
Due to public safety guidelines, we have modified our in-person announcement event for the Business Excellence Awards finalists, but look forward to a new and refreshed announcement and celebration of business in Brantford-Brant in 2022!
Please stay safe, and shop local!
