Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers, golfers, and the course, Copetown Woods for your understanding and flexibility regarding the significant rainfall event yesterday, and the postponement of the tournament to June 28th. The Chamber looks forward to hosting a great event to help kick off the summer and upcoming long weekend. In between, while the Boardroom is golf-tournament-ready with prize bags and signs, we are pleased to host several meetings in the Boardroom throughout the month of June, and thank our members for using this great member privilege.
We look forward to seeing as many members and friends as possible at our June Business After Hours event Tuesday on June 14th at the Hampton Inn and Suites.
The Chamber would like to congratulate Will Bouma on his election as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Brantford-Brant. We look forward to working with him on issues vital to our region over the next four years. Our thanks to Harvey Bischof, Ruby Toor, Karleigh Csordas, and the other candidates for putting their names and ideas forward as part of the electoral process. With a few days off to focus on operations, the policy and advocacy team and volunteers will begin to look toward the municipal elections this fall.
Please join me in thanking Olivia Hull for her contributions to the Chamber over the past eight months in the role of our Administration and Communications Coordinator. Liv has been the creator of the E-News, coordinator and creator of our social media content, and the primary resource for our Shop Local and Rapid Testing Kits programs. She will be staying in the community, moving to our education partner the Grand Erie District School Board as a Communications Assistant. Liv’s responsibilities will be shared this summer by Alex Dow, our Conestoga College Office Administration-Executive work placement student from this spring, and our summer student, to be announced shortly, as we re-examine the priorities of the role emerging from COVID-19 programming and potential partnerships.
Finally, a quick question for you: How can the Chamber help your business this summer? Let us know!
Look forward to seeing you at an event or out in the community soon!
Dave
